Welcome to the Official Website of the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Informatics at Minghsin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. The Department was established in 1958 with its former name as the Department of Civil Engineering. In 1997, the Department was merged with the Department of Environmental Resources Management to extend education and serving to sustainable development, and was officially renamed the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Informatics.
We have achieved outstanding results in the evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education for science and technology universities, receiving a first-class rating. We are honored as one of the leading departments in Taiwan achieving the IEET accreditation that firmly demonstrates our education quality meeting international standards of teaching and engineering. (IEET is a member of the "Washington Accord," an international engineering education accreditation agreement. Graduates from IEET-accredited departments are recognized in 20 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and others). The Department has had more than 10000 graduates serving in industries, research institutes, and academic organizations.
The department currently offers undergraduate, continuing education, and master programs that have had the participation of international students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Philippines, etc. The aim of the Department is to produce students with the professional skills and solid knowledge needed in the fields of civil engineering and environmental informatics.
Education Objectives:
The educational objectives of our program are to cultivate civil and environmental engineering professionals with specialized technical skills, teamwork spirit, humanistic qualities, and international perspectives. We aim to equip our students to undertake various tasks related to civil engineering construction, including design, construction, management, inspection, and control, thereby promoting industrial advancement, enhancing national competitiveness, and benefiting society as a whole.
