Educational Objectives
Department of Early Childhood Care and Education
A warm, caring, and professional department—welcome to join us!
The only university of science and technology in Northern Taiwan accredited by the Ministry of Education to cultivate both certified preschool educators and kindergarten teachers.
Development Goals
Guided by the core values of reflection, care, and innovation, the department structures its professional curriculum and learning activities in early childhood care and education. Its primary goal is to cultivate professionals who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies as preschool educators and in related industries, thereby contributing high-quality talent to early childhood institutions and allied fields.
In addition to the accredited professional curriculum for early childhood education, the department offers courses related to infant care (ages 0–2) and early intervention. In response to the development of AI, existing STEM and creativity courses have been integrated with smart technology elements. These efforts aim to develop students’ professional competencies in early childhood education (ages 0–6), enhance their foundational understanding of early intervention, stimulate creative thinking, and equip them with interdisciplinary integration and problem-solving abilities.
Recognizing that early childhood education is a critical stage in the educational process and that childcare policies increasingly emphasize professional quality, the department established a master’s program in the 2022 academic year. The program is dedicated to cultivating highly educated and qualified professionals in early childhood care and education, fostering research talent, and advancing both theoretical and practical perspectives in infant and toddler care. It also aims to develop management professionals for practical service settings, thereby enhancing the theory and practice of the child-related industry. Through foundational undergraduate training and advanced graduate-level education, students are expected to become professionals with interdisciplinary integration and problem-solving capabilities.
