Characteristic Development
College of Engineering is establishing its infrastructure in meeting the fast-moving stream of economic development and requirement of industrial sector, besides continuing the development as planned by each department at the previous Ming-Hsin college stage. Hence the following tasks are underway:
1. Recruiting teaching staffs with characteristic expertise and industrial experience.
2. Setting up teaching and research facilities.
3. Developing the targeting characteristics for breeding the professional engineers required by the relevant industry.
Furthermore, the interdepartmental integration according to the industrial
needs and departmental characteristics with courses planning as well as research center establishing, will provide the necessary R&D technical services to the industrial sector. This lays the foundation for reaching the goal of cooperation between industry and College of Engineering. Especially in 2003,“the “Optoelectronic TFT monitor curriculum” program has been well established.
In addition, for further promoting the quality level of teaching, each department (and graduate school) will pursue the certificate of Engineering Education and add the courses in the fields of “Green Technology” and “System Engineering” etc. They are all specially designed for the college of Engineering in realizing the following goals:
