Minghsin University of Science and Technology
Department of Electronic Engineering
The department of Electronic Engineering was established in 1969 and has a two-year and a four-year program for undergraduate students, along with a graduate program for master degree now. The teaching and research can be categorized into three major programs covering a wide range of electronics-related fields. First of all, the Communication System Program focuses on communication engineering, digital communication, signal and system, radio frequency (RF) circuit design, digital signal processing, and radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) design and implementation. Moreover, the Semiconductor Material and Device Program majors in VLSI circuit design, VLSI layout, semiconductor physics, semiconductor devices, and optoelectronics. Finally, the Computer Engineering Program features software engineering, multimedia systems, object-oriented design, single chip application, computer architecture, and data security.
The faculty members of the department are 37, which make it one of the strongest faculties among such departments in Taiwan. The staffs introduce new fields into both teaching and research to provide students the advanced technique training, in order to properly scope with the development of the domestic electronics industry and variations of the marketing. Most of the students come from the vocational education system, the department puts more emphasis on practical training to further shape their potential. Some of staffs obtain projects from the National Science Council, in Taiwan, for more basic research, and some have constantly received grants from industry for applied research. This elegantly balances the treatment between theory and practice. Furthermore, the department also provides great effort to support the various continuing education programs and short-term training courses to assist people who need these trainings to execute their works.
